Shamil Bank is the first in Bahrain to introduce SMS banking services under the brand name of Shamil SMS-link. SMS (Short Message Service) is the most convenient, low-cost and quickest way to receive your banking information.

SMS messages have the same information value as the telephone voice calls, but it is textual and voiceless. The service is available around the clock seven days a week by using any GSM mobile phone.

SMS is available to Shamil Bank's pre-registered customers upon receiving messages from their GSM mobile phones to the service number of the Bank in the pre-defined formats asking for specific services

The services available to the customers currently are:
Account Balance
Group Accounts Balance
Mini Statement
Automatic salary notification

How to use Shamil SMS-Link:
Using your GSM Mobile phone, send a SMS Message to the service number 39432327 and wait for response from the bank. The average response time is 15 seconds.

For Group of Accounts Balance Inquiry:
Send the Message "INQ5019999999" where INQ is fixed and the numbers represent the first 10 digits of your account number with the bank.

For Specific Account Balance Inquiry:
Send the Message "BAL5019999999999" where BAL is fixed and the numbers represent your account number with the bank.

For Mini Statement of Account:
Send the Message "STM5019999999999" where STM is fixed and the numbers represent your account number with the bank.

To Unsubscribe to the Service:
Send the Message "STP5019999999999" where STP is fixed and the numbers represent your account number with the bank

Automatic Salary Notification:
Upon subscribing to Shamil SMS-Link you will automatically be notified on salary crediting to your accounts within 10 minutes.
