Benefiting Needy Bahraini Families

Shamil Bank, a leading Bahrain-based Islamic commercial bank and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ithmaar Bank, has announced a donation for needy Bahraini families through Bahraini charitable societies, funds and organizations.

The gesture comes from Shamil Bank’s deep conviction to help to improve the condition of poor Bahraini families, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, when expenses increase, overstretching their household budgets. There are many families who are weighed down by the upcoming festivities of Eid Al Fitr and the back-to-school season.

Essa Al-Jalahma, the Shamil Bank’s Senior Manager, Human Resources, said: "Based on the set of principles that Shamil Bank believes in, we always want to play an active, positive and effective role in the uplifting of the Bahraini society. As a matter of fact, the Bank has been providing such assistance and donations to needy Bahraini families every year."

Al-Jalahma noted: “In this respect the Bank has put prudent mechanism in place through which it ensures that the donations reach the needy Bahraini families, who should be the actual beneficiaries. He further said: "Shamil Bank has made these donations in the form of food coupons to ensure equality and that the donations reach their intended beneficiaries. The objective has been achieved through co-operation and co-ordination with 60 Bahraini charitable societies and funds, all of which are renowned organizations with proven track record of voluntary and social work. These organizations are working under the legal and official patronage of the Kingdom of Bahrain."

He added: "The recipients of food coupons will be able to redeem them for foodstuffs, for an equivalent value as printed on the coupons, from any of the Al Muntazah Supermarket branches, anywhere on the island.”

It is of special note that Shamil Bank always provides financial assistance to different segments of Bahraini society including charitable, social, cultural, academic, health and educational organizations. These humble efforts lead towards enhancing the growth and development of the society in which Shamil Bank operates as an Islamic bank, creating job opportunities for Bahrainis and supporting national training and development initiatives.
