In line with its long standing commitment to playing a real and meaningful role in supporting the development of Bahrain’s banking and finance industry, Ithmaar Bank extended, once again, its support for the AAOIFI – World Bank Annual Conference on Islamic Banking and Finance.

The Conference, which is this year being be held from 14 to 15 December, is designed to give the international Islamic finance industry the collaborative platform to highlight pertinent issues and promote harmonisation of global practices.

Ithmaar Bank, which has been a long time supporter of the annual conference, is a Platinum Sponsor of this year’s event.

“The conference is organised as part of AAOIFI's consultative process with the industry, and is be attended by eminent Sharia scholars and senior representatives of central banks and industry regulators, Islamic financial institutions, and other leading industry participants,” said Ithmaar Bank Chief Operating Officer, Ahmed A. Rahim. “We are delighted to be able to continue to support this important event,” he said.

Following the formal inauguration of the Conference, the Minister of Housing, His Excellency Shaikh Ibrahim bin Khalifa Al Khalifa (left) and the Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, His Excellency Rasheed Al Mearaj, visited the Ithmaar Bank booth and were received by Ithmaar Bank officials.
